PwC predicts that the successful tax professional of the future will be highly proficient in data analysis, statistics and technology. Our Tax Data & Analytics Workshop is a tangible way to learn these skills in the context of tax and finance data.
Our Tax Data & Analytics Workshop is split into 4 key moments:
- It starts with a half-day meeting in our Experience Center. Our multidisciplinary team that gathers Subject Matter Experts (SME), Data experts and Designers will walk you through our BXT method and inspire your team. The goal is to understand your needs and main concerns so we can tailor the workshop according to your reality.
- A two-day workshop will follow. This will consist of a mix of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on exercises, featuring software and techniques that are currently available for automation, data processing and data visualisation.
- You can then put into practice in your organisation what you have learnt. A PwC professional will accompany you over 4 weeks, ready to answer any follow-up question you may have.
- After the four-week period, we will get together once again to work through your client-specific data challenges, and define ways to tackle them.
At the end of the workshop you will be able to build workflows to automate the extraction of data from excel reports, be a proficient user of a data visualisation tool and have learnt a framework for building your tax-data ecosystem.
Who should attend the Tax Data workshop?
Our Tax Data & Analytics workshop is ideally suited to tax and finance professionals dealing with tax compliance and tax consulting with no, or limited, exposure to these types of tools. This workshop will give you practical experience in using data extraction and transformation tools, and visualisation software by working through a real-life case study to build an interactive management dashboard from working papers.

Kick off
4 weeks prior to the workshop, bring your team members to the PwC Experience Center to:
- Explore together your challenges related to Tax and data
- Align the team on needs and expectations
- Imagine opportunities that you can tackle with data
- Collect data set if possible
- This exercise will help us to adjust the 2-day workshop to your reality
Days 2 and 3
During these days, you will:
- Learn about key concepts and terminology used in the data and analytics domain
- Walk through your tax-data framework
- Gain hands-on experience in extracting and transforming data using automation software
- Get started with data visualisation
- Visualise and analyse your data - build a tax management dashboard
- Get introduced to RPA (Robotic Process Automation)
- See demonstrations of more advanced topics and tax-specific apps
4 weeks to practice
Over this time, you will
- Have the opportunity to apply the data management and analytics skills that you have acquired within your organisation
- Get the support of a PwC specialist to answer your questions*
*Maximum 3 hours per client and subject to audit clearance, if applicable
Follow-up session
It consists in a 4-hour meeting to:
- Review learnings
- Demonstrate advanced tax-use cases for automation and visualisation
- Discuss opportunities and challenges
- Answer specific follow-up questions
- Review examples from initial workshop, if required
