PwC Luxembourg & Microsoft

Creating lasting business outcomes together

PwC is known for providing advisory services when it comes to company transformation.

PwC’s strength is its ability to couple functional transformation to the technical counterpart. We have experience in business strategy as well as technology expertise, which allow us to empower leaders to proactively manage market changes and restructure business models for operational excellence, growth, and innovation.

By partnering with Microsoft, PwC can provide end-to-end cloud capabilities allowing a thorough digital transformation; modernizing from the back-end with infrastructure technology (Azure) to the front-end (Microsoft 365 - Modern workplace) without foregoing the customer and logistics relationship end of it (Dynamics365).

Microsoft’s ecosystem empowers companies to step fully into a more efficient and cost-managed way of working.

Together, PwC and Microsoft, we bring this added value, which is necessary to make the digital transformation a success, for all our customers.

PwC and Microsoft services

Cloud Transformation comes in different shapes and sizes with Microsoft:

  • Infrastructure services, covered mostly in Azure (comprised of Azure, Azure Stack, Azure Arc)
  • Modern workplace called Microsoft 365
  • Business applications comprised of Dynamics 365 (CRM/ERP) and PowerPlatform (Automation and low-code solution)

Azure is a comprehensive cloud computing platform that provides Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions. It enables organizations to build, deploy, and manage applications and services on a global network of data centers. Azure offers a vast array of services, including virtual machines, databases, AI, analytics, storage, networking, and more.

Azure is the platform hosting all infrastructure services, such as:

  • Storage (Azure Storage, datalakes, etc.)
  • Compute services (Kubernetes, Virtual Machines, etc. )
  • Identity and security (Azure Active Directory)
  • Integration (API management)
  • Migration & recovery (Site recovery, Migration service)
  • Networking (Application gateway, Virtual networks, etc.)
  •  Databases (Cosmos, SQL, etc.)
  • Management & Governance (Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Cost Management, etc.)
  • AI & Machine Learning (Cognitive services, Azure OpenAI, etc. )
  • Automated deployment (Azure DevOps)
  • Azure IoT (Azure IoT Hub, Azure IoT Central, Azure Sphere, Azure IoT Edge, etc.)

Azure Stack focuses on bringing Azure services to an organization's own data center or edge locations. It enables consistent development and operational experiences between Azure and the private cloud environment.

  • Edge and disconnected scenarios: Azure Stack is ideal for deploying applications and services in remote or disconnected locations where low-latency processing, data sovereignty, or limited connectivity are important factors.
  • Data-intensive workloads: Organizations can leverage Azure Stack to process and store large volumes of data on-premises, particularly when moving data to the cloud is impractical due to network constraints or regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance and data sovereignty: Azure Stack helps meet regulatory compliance by keeping sensitive data on-premises while still benefiting from cloud capabilities and modern application development.

Azure Arc focuses on extending Azure management capabilities and services to diverse environments beyond Azure and is focused on hybrid cloud management, multi-cloud governance, and edge computing.

  • Hybrid cloud management: Azure Arc allows organizations to centrally manage and monitor resources across Azure, on-premises data centers, and other public clouds. It provides consistency in application deployments, infrastructure configuration, and policy enforcement.
  • Multi-cloud governance: With Azure Arc, organizations can apply Azure policies, access control, and monitoring to resources deployed in different cloud providers, streamlining governance and compliance efforts in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Edge computing: Azure Arc extends Azure services to edge locations, enabling the deployment and management of containerised applications, IoT solutions, and data services closer to where the data is generated. It reduces latency and improves responsiveness.

Azure’s diversified offerings and versatility allow their services to be centered around specific industries, such as the Financial sector or the healthcare industry.
