Shine

Be yourself. Shine with us.

Across PwC, Shine is our inclusive business network focused on the LGBTQ+ community and allies.

At PwC Luxembourg, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone can be their authentic selves. Through our Shine network, we actively support, respect, and celebrate PwC Luxembourg’s LGBTQ+ community and their allies.

Additionally, Shine is a founding member of the PwC EMEA Shine network.

Our role

We proudly uphold the values of respect for sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression by participating in local Pride parades and events, organising thematic gatherings, honouring key milestones within the LGBTQ+ community, and partnering with like-minded external organisations, including Luxembourg's LGBTQ+ professional network.

Our mission

Our aim is to:

  • Support our PwC Luxembourg LGBTQ+ community to be themselves and ensure they have equal professional opportunities and a safe environment;

  • Influence and support the Firm’s People agenda;

  • Have a visible presence externally and do the right thing in our community.

To ensure a safe and inclusive environment in PwC Luxembourg and beyond, Shine has set up an ambitious action plan covering the training of leaders and key people managers, the creation and animation of our network of allies, events and common actions with external organisations, specific HR and ethical policies, among others.

Shine is now digging deeper into the invisible obstacles, expanding our engagement with our main stakeholders and our people and trying to make an impact that counts. To sum up some of the key actions:

  • Forming an alliance with other companies and organisations through IMS - Inspiring More Sustainability, a network supporting its members through collaborative projects by promoting dialogue with stakeholders.

  • Under the umbrella of IMS, Shine is part of a wider “Walk The Talk” network; an ever-growing community of companies united by the belief that collective action drives greater progress with several areas of focus: Inclusive hiring processes, equalisation of benefits for LGBTQ+ employees, visibility challenges, and ways companies can actively support a more inclusive and diverse world through joint events.

  • Raising our level of support for Rosa Lëtzebuerg asbl,  the national LGBTQ+ association in Luxembourg advocating for LGBTQ+ people, active in the field of social issues related to LGBTQ+ topics, as well as co-sponsoring Luxembourg’s annual Pride event.

  • Strengthening our participation across the PwC EMEA Shine Network. Luxembourg has been a member for some years, including providing design and communication support, as well as actively engaging in the annual PwC EMEA Pride Month, attending the first two annual EMEA Shine Symposiums and striving to contribute to an international community of solvers.

Here in Luxembourg, our local Shine network continues to expand our presence in the LGBTQ+   community, raising awareness, and providing information, support, advice, and networking opportunities for our people. As a strong advocate for the country’s Pride celebrations, SHINE has organised both internal and external events, engaging other local businesses to join in.

“At PwC Luxembourg, Shine is more than a network—it’s an LGBTQ+ beacon, lighting the path to inclusion, where every identity is celebrated, and every voice is heard. Through collective action, we walk the talk, championing equality and creating a vibrant tapestry of diversity that empowers our people to shine their brightest. Shine's spotlight also reaches beyond the walls of PwC, and we take pride in contributing to the well-being, safety, and inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals throughout the Grand Duchy.”

Marc SchernbergPartner, and DEI & Wellbeing Leader

"Our Shine network isn’t just about inclusion; it’s about illumination—celebrating every colour of identity, providing a real community for our people, and weaving a brighter future together, where everyone’s authentic self is not only welcomed but championed."
