Capital Requirement Regulation II / CRR II - Regulation (EU) 2019/876 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2019 amending Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 as regards the leverage ratio, the net stable funding ratio, requirements for own funds and eligible liabilities, counterparty credit risk, market risk, exposures to central counterparties, exposures to collective investment undertakings, large exposures, reporting and disclosure requirements, and Regulation (EU) No 648/2012 (known as "Capital Requirement Regulation II" or "CRR II").

This is essentially the finalisation of the key aspects of Basel III. 

Application date: applicable from 28 June 2021 with few exceptions for some provisions (some applicable since 27 June 2019).

Capital Requirements Directive VI (CRD VI) – Directive (EU) 2024/1619 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 May 2024 amending Directive 2013/36/EU as regards supervisory powers, sanctions, third‑country branches, governance, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks (commonly referred to as the Capital Requirements Directive VI or CRD VI).

Transposition and application: Member States are required to transpose CRD VI into national law by 10 January 2026. The Directive applies from 11 January 2026, with certain provisions—most notably those relating to third‑country branches—applying from 11 January 2027.

Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive II / BRRD II - Directive (EU) 2019/879 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2019 amending Directive 2014/59/EU as regards the loss-absorbing and recapitalisation capacity of credit institutions and investment firms and Directive 98/26/EC (known as "Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive II" or "BRRD II").

Application date: to be transposed into national legislation by 28 December 2020.

Single Resolution Mechanism Resolution II / SRMR II - Regulation (EU) 2019/877 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 May 2019 amending Regulation (EU) No 806/2014 as regards the loss-absorbing and recapitalisation capacity of credit institutions and investment firms (known as "Single Resolution Mechanism Resolution II" or "SRMR II") .

Application date: applicable from 28 December 2020.
