Annual PwC Healthcare Conference - 6th edition

The Inescapable Era of Digital Health - from Strategy to Action

In our connected world, digital tools have become part of our daily lives; however, digitisation of healthcare could be considered to be behind the curve. In Luxembourg, based upon previously conducted research, we know that:

  • 45% of people over the age of 65 report living with one chronic condition which is above the EU average. The population is ageing and the strain on the healthcare system is increasing1.
  • Luxembourg has fewer physicians (but more nurses) per capita than the EU average2.
  • 54% of the country’s female population underwent breast cancer screening in 20233. Breast cancer is the leading cancer among women with a mortality rate that can be effectively treated if diagnosed early enough.
Annual PwC Healthcare Conference - 6th edition

When we consider Luxembourg's Digital Readiness, in 2021 Luxembourg rated highly (second only to Singapore) on the Cisco Digital Readiness Index overall4 - owing largely to the innovative start-up environment. However in two components that make up this score, specifically technology infrastructure and investment on digital transformation Luxembourg is falling behind dropping to 15th place and 21st place respectively.

Join us on May 23rd for the 6th annual healthcare conference hosted by PwC Luxembourg, where we embark on an exploration of the transformative journey into the age of digital health.

Esteemed guests, including government officials, hospital representatives, and prominent international institutions such as the World Health Organisation and Kaiser Permanente join us as we explore international and national perspectives, experiences across a 2-hour conference to answer 4 prominent questions:

  • What lessons can Luxembourg learn from the international digital healthcare environment in the Middle East and the US? What are the good practices and lessons learned?

  • What has been the impact of digitalization on human resources and patient care in healthcare?

  • How can digitalization in healthcare contribute to the early detection and treatment of breast cancer, ultimately reducing mortality rates among women in Luxembourg?

  • What role can technology play in empowering patients to take control of their health and manage chronic conditions effectively?

The conference, as always, will be followed by a cocktail and a walking dinner, providing valuable time to network and discuss with fellow participants and speakers.
