PwC Luxembourg is delighted to announce it has achieved the European Data Protection Seal through the Europrivacy Certification, marking a significant milestone as the first certification of its kind in Europe. This landmark accomplishment underscores PwC Luxembourg's unwavering commitment to building trust with its clients, employees, and commercial partners through robust information security safeguards.
The Europrivacy certification scheme, managed by the European Centre for Certification and Privacy (ECCP) in Luxembourg and overseen by an International Board of Experts, facilitates the certification of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance and adherence to other data protection regulations. Aligning with ISO/IEC 17065 and Article 42 of the GDPR, this scheme allows organisations to demonstrate compliance through certificates that are valid for three years and renewable.
The Europrivacy certification, which is approved by the local data protection authority, CNPD in Luxembourg, and the European Data Protection Board (EDPB), includes a comprehensive set of criteria to evaluate and document the compliance of personal data processing with GDPR obligations. These criteria cover aspects such as lawfulness, data subjects' rights, data protection by design, and the management of data breaches, along with additional checks for technology and domain-specific obligations and security assessments.
