In collaboration with PwC's subject matters experts, PwC's Academy has developed a training curriculum designed to equip professionals with the right understanding of the intricacies of the insurance markets.

Our pedagogic approach embraces an extensive learning universe, offering participants the flexibility to blend digital and live formats for an optimal and personalised learning experience.

To answer your questions and training needs at different stages of your career, our curriculum is structured around 3 levels: Foundation, Knowledge & Competence and Fit & Proper.

Foundation

This foundation level serves as an introduction, covering fundamental concepts and principles related to our topic. Participants at this level will gain a solid understanding of the basics to form a strong foundation for more advanced learning.

  • Life insurance in Luxembourg (2h) This training course will introduce participants to the life insurance market and help them understand its key concepts and challenges.
  • Non-life insurance in Luxembourg (2h) This training course will introduce participants to the non-life insurance market and help them understand its key concepts and challenges.
  • Reinsurance in Luxembourg (2h) This training course will introduce participants to the reinsurance market and help them understand its key concepts and challenges.

  • GDPR essentials (1h20) This course is made up of small bite-sized courses, with 12 engaging videos which break down larger, more complex topics into interactive modules for learners to gain a unique learning experience. The course covers personal data processing, regulation, data subject rights and data breaches.
  • Cybersecurity (1h) This digital course provides participants with the latest cyber practices throughout 4 e-learning modules: they focus on the different types of cyber threats, showing participants how to outsmart the hacker and how to implement best practices in the workplace.
  • AML - Follow the money (1h) is an immersive digital case-study designed by PwC’s Academy and PwC’s subject matter experts to support the acquisition and assessment of essential AML knowledge and competence while answering the AML training requirements as set by the law. It is offered in different versions, focusing either on the Luxembourg regulatory framework (available in French or English) or on the European regulations (available in English only).
  • Going beyond AML: fraud, corruption, and whistleblowing (2h) This live course covers different financial crimes, other than AML, focusing on their regulatory framework and tools to reach efficient protection for the company.
  • International sanctions and screening (1h) This course highlights the regulatory requirements regarding this topic and addresses in a comprehensive and practical way the questions participants and their team are confronted with in the light of their professional duties and the progressive evolution of AML and counter-terrorism financing.

Knowledge & Competence

This stage delves deeper into the subject matter providing participants with sound knowledge and practical skills necessary for their day-to-day tasks.

  • Solvency II – Foundation (3h) This training covers the key concepts of the regulation and provides participants with insight into risk management, governance, and reporting under Solvency II.
  • Solvency II – Advanced (1h) With this module, participants will get the key updates of the regulatory framework and the EU agenda.
  • Outsourcing in insurance (1h30) This module focuses on the requirements introduced the CAA circulars, especially in terms of outsourcing assessment, due diligence, risk assessments, insurance secrecy, notifications, oversight of service providers, and exit strategies.
  • Value for money /POG (1h) This module phelps participants gain an increased awareness develop a common approach to address the risks associated with value for money.
  • Automatic exchange of information (FATCA and CRS) - Basic principles (3h) This module provides participants with a sound understanding of the FATCA and CRS principles, the regulatory requirements, and the controls necessary for compliance.
  • GDPR advanced (1h20) This digital course consists of small bite-sized courses, enriched with engaging videos, breaking down larger and more complex topics into interactive modules for participants to gain a unique learning experience. It ensures that your organisation gains advanced GDPR knowledge, enabling compliance with the regulation's requirements.
  • ESG in financial product: regulation and reporting (2h) This course allows participants to understand how SFDR interacts with the other regulations and the consequences on its implementation, as well as the potential impact of SFDR on their reporting at entity level and product level.
  • CSRD for insurance (1h30) This module is designed to demystify the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) key concepts and requirements applicable to insurance companies.
  • Tax aspects of insurance entities (4h) This course allows participants to have a good understanding of the current Luxembourg taxation of the insurance industry, along with the upcoming tax challenges.
  • Tax aspects of reinsurance entities (4h) This course allows participants to have a good understanding of the current Luxembourg taxation of the reinsurance industry, along with the upcoming tax challenges.
  • IFRS 17 - Technical aspects (2h) This course will help participants understand how to implement the key IFRS 17 concepts by creating cash flow model and illustrative accounts for insurance products.

Fit & Proper

This level is addressed to board members and executive members ensuring they are "fit and proper" to handle responsibilities and make efficient strategic decisions.

  • IFRS 17 for executives (1h30) During this course we will discuss how IFRS 17 is used to steer the business, the important points to be considered by the different key stakeholders and the new KPI.
  • CSRD for insurance (1h30) This course is designed to demystify the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) key concepts and requirements applicable to insurance companies.
  • Governance in insurance - Regulatory framework (1h30) This training is designed to familiarise professionals with the various laws, regulations, CAA Circular letters but also standards, and best practices that govern the insurance sector in Luxembourg.
  • Governance in insurance - Compliance (1h30) This course is designed to equip (re)insurance stakeholders with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex landscape of insurance governance and compliance. 
  • Outsourcing in insurance (1h) This training is designed to provide (re)insurance stakeholders with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand, implement, and manage outsourcing initiatives within the insurance sector.
