Steve Bernat is the CEO of Carne’s Luxembourg business and a member of Carne Group’s Global Executive Committee. He is a highly experienced investment fund expert with strong background in fund governance and fund distribution. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day business of Carne’s Luxembourg office and its management company.
Steve has almost two decades of experience in the international funds industry, working to facilitate the requirements of asset management clients from across the globe. Prior to joining Carne in June 2015, he was a member of the Executive Committee at Lemanik Asset Management and has previously held a number of senior positions in Operations, Product Management and Business Development at Citibank, State Street Bank and Pioneer Asset Management.
Steve is a Luxembourg national and speaks English, German, French and Luxembourgish. He is an active member of fund industry committees and working groups and a regular speaker at conferences around the globe.
Paul Ellis has over 20 years financial services experience providing asset servicing solutions to a broad universe of asset managers, insurance companies, hedge funds and pension schemes. He has worked in a variety of senior operational, product development and client management roles prior to and since joining HSBC Securities Services in 2003.
Paul has responsibility for managing product development arising from new global regulations across the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He provides regular thought leadership to clients and more widely via contribution to publications, webinars and conferences.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Business Studies degree from Trinity College Dublin and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Peter Carroll is Head of EMEA Delegation Oversight for Invesco. He has been with Invesco for more than 20 years, carrying out a number of roles, predominately in Operations and Fund Administration. He is based in Luxembourg since 2015 and is a Conducting Officer and Director of Invesco’s Luxembourg Management company. Prior to that he was with Ernst and Young in Ireland.
Susanne Schartz has 20 years of experience in the Luxembourg asset management industry. During this time, she held different roles within operations and product. Throughout her career, she has gathered extensive experience in defining and deploying technology within operational and regulatory contexts.
In 2017, Susanne joined SEQVOIA as COO; she is responsible for operations, product strategy, IT and client service.
Susanne is passionate about technology as an innovative force that offers solutions to organizational challenges and brings operational efficiency as the basis for business growth.
Dr. Hung-Lieh Liang is a legal and regulatory advisory partner from PwC Taiwan with a focus on banking and asset management. Among other things, Hung Lieh advised multiple UCITS and non-UCITS offshore mutual funds on licensing, ongoing regulatory compliance and exit strategy planning in relation to their Taiwan distributions. Hung Lieh holds a PhD in Banking Law from the University of London.
