Jean-François Champigny Jean-François Champigny Partner, PwC Luxembourg

Civil Engineer and Economist, Jean-François Champigny joined PwC Corporate Finance in 2007 after three years experience as highly-ranked civil servant in France. He is responsible for financial advisory assignments with a focus on the clean-tech sector, and has led numerous missions in this field (Mergers and Acquisitions, due diligences, valuations and preparation of business plans).

Since 2009, Jean-François Champigny has been coordinating the efforts of PwC Luxembourg in the field of sustainable development. He has developed PwC "Sustainable Business Solutions" services offering, he supervised the preparation of the "2010 - Luxembourg Sustainability Yearbook", and organised the first edition of the "PwC Sustainability Day" in December 2010.

He was a member of the jury at the final of the European Venture Capital context, Barcelona, 2010, for clean-techs and renewable energy projects.

Jean-François Champigny graduated from Ecole Polytechnique, France, Corps des Ponts et Chaussées, and holds a master’s degree in Applied Sciences from the University of Montreal, Canada.

Laurent Rouach Laurent Rouach Partner, PwC Luxembourg

Engineer, Laurent Rouach has a strong expertise in carbon emission management and sustainable development, mainly in the area of real estate, sustainable building, energy and the environment.

He joined PROgroup in 1996, a group primarily active in the security & health coordination. The group rapidly diversified its offer, notably in the management of complex projects in Luxembourg, Belgium and France.

In order to extend its scope of services to sustainable development and environmental services for real-estate, Laurent Rouach founded PROgéna in 2001, which employed15 people.

Laurent also took part in the foundation of Sustain, specialised in Corporate Social Responsibility consulting.

Laurent graduated from the ESTACA (Ecole Supérieure des Techniques Aéronautiques et de Construction Automobile), France. He is certified in Luxembourg as a Waste Manager ("Gestionnaire déchets") and accredited Bilan Carbone © (French Carbon footprint methodology) by the ADEME (French Environment and Energy Management Agency).

Pierre Wauthier Pierre Wauthier Director, PwC Luxembourg

Industrial Engineer, Pierre joined PROgéna in 2005. Previously, he was employed for two years as a project manager engineer in a specialised office dedicated to the environment where he worked as an expert in Brownfield, contaminated land and soil remediation .

Pierre has extensive expertise in technical audit and due diligence for buildings, waste management (both during the construction phase and the exploitation phase) and environmental impact assessment.

Pierre has a master's degree in Industrial Engineering, specialised in agriculture and the environment, from the Institut Supérieur Industriel agronomique (ISIa), Belgium. He has also in-depth experience in ornithology and ecology.

Yapo Marius Bessekon Yapo Marius Bessekon Senior Manager, PwC Luxembourg

Engineer specialising in environmental topics and especially in the field of environmental certification of buildings, his experience is based on the assessment of environmental aspects relating to buildings.

He joined PROgéna in 2005, a specialised consulting firm then acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers Luxembourg. Yapo Marius Bessekon has developed expertise in the field of environmental certifications of buildings and participated in the development of benchmarks and assessment tools for the Greater Region. Marius is currently working on the development of a tool specific to the Greater Region in collaboration with the University of Liège in the framework of his Ph.D. He has advised clients for the implementation of best environmental practices in the construction sector. Marius is BREEAM International Assessor and LEED Green Associate and has a good knowledge of the French and German assessment methods.

He also works on topics related to carbon accounting and advised many companies and administrations on issues relating to sustainable development. He participated actively in the dissemination of environmental good practices. For example, he trained companies affiliated to the IFSB (Institute sectoriel du bâtiment) and students on the MSc Environmental science course at the University of Liège.

Catherine Dupont Catherine Dupont Tax Partner, PwC Luxembourg

Catherine has been a tax partner in the International Tax Structuring practice since 2008.

Catherine has extensive experience in corporate tax planning for multinational companies, mainly in Ireland and in the UK where she worked for the PwC London office for two years.

She develops and executes cross-border financing and holding transactions as well as tax efficient structures to repatriate cash/profits to offshore investors and quoted companies.

Catherine Dupont also specialises in sustainable tax and products services and assists clients in designing and implementing efficient sustainable strategies.

Catherine Dupont holds a Master's degree in law from the University of Liege, Belgium as well as a Master's in Tax Law from the University of Liege in collaboration with the Maastricht University. She also holds a certificate in Luxembourg Tax Law.

René Paulussen René Paulussen Audit Partner, PwC Luxembourg

René Paulussen is a partner in the real estate and infrastructure group of PwC Luxembourg with over six years of real estate experience. He is also actively involved in the European and Global PwC real estate network and globally responsible for sustainability. René Paulussen is a member of the ALFI Real Estate Funds Sub-Committee and an active member of INREV.

René has gained extensive experience in European and Global real estate structures and his experience includes financial accounting for real estate and financial institutions as well as advising clients during the set-up phase on structuring, regulatory and operational issues. He is also very knowledgeable regarding assurance services in the field of sustainability reporting.

René studied at the Maastricht University and the Ecole de Commerce Solvay, where he obtained his ‘Doctorandus’ degree and an MBA, respectively. In addition, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the Netherlands as well as in Luxembourg.
