Welcome to the fourth issue of our Real Estate Sustainability Newsletter.
On behalf of PwC, we wish you a very Happy and Sustainable New Year 2013! Let’s start the year with a warm welcome to the fourth issue of our Real Estate Sustainability newsletter.
After the EU Energy Efficiency Directive came into force in December 2012, sustainability will keep on being the key driver for changes in the real estate sector in 2013. To help this sector to be prepared for such a framework, our newsletter focuses on the most relevant trends related to sustainable buildings.
We hope that you will enjoy reading our newsletter that is structured into five main topics:
Firstly, we have introduced noticeable news related to the construction of sustainable buildings around the world. Among others, we have presented two outstanding projects: The One Trade Centre in New York and the BIQ building in Hamburg. In the second part, we have presented the results of four studies that could help making future decisions on sustainability, including the 2012 GRESB report. In a context of increasing Green regulation, we have also provided some update on regulatory issues about Clean energy and Green buildings. Our fourth topic has tracked the last technological changes that could impact the real estate sector. Finally, we have also presented two upcoming events, including one for which Laurent Rouach, partner at PwC is giving a talk, and the Sustainability Day held on the 5th December 2012.
Good reading!
